Elizabeth was born right here in Nashville and grew up alongside her brother. She attended Harpeth Hall for high school before earning a degree in British-American Literature from Vanderbilt University. After graduation, Elizabeth was eager to explore life beyond the South. In her early twenties, she joined the Outward Bound program, spending three weeks in the Colorado wilderness mastering survival skills.
Her first professional role took her to Birmingham, Alabama, but Elizabeth dreamed of experiencing life further afield. When she was offered a new job in New York City, she accepted it and embraced the opportunity. With only one friend in the city, she arrived, checked into a hotel, and started work the very next day. Elizabeth found temporary lodging at the Mary Markle Residence for women in the West Village—a single, furnished apartment with Ethan Allen furniture and two meals a day, in a building where no men were allowed above the lobby. After nine months, she secured her first permanent apartment once she had the necessary references.
Elizabeth fell in love with New York and lived there for over 20 years. She thrived in her career as a commercial insurance broker, navigating a male-dominated industry where she was one of just a few women in a large firm. During this time, she married a New Yorker who worked as a TV executive. Tragically, he passed away from cancer in 2001, and life in New York without him felt different.
In 2003, Elizabeth returned to Nashville, drawn back by family and the familiarity of home. She also decided to embark on a new career path, joining Friedrich and Clark as a real estate agent. She has remained with them ever since, building a successful career helping others find their own homes.
Family continues to be a central part of Elizabeth’s life. Her brother has four children—three boys and one girl—and one of her favorite joys is seeing her niece daily as she rents her garage apartment, a relationship that began during the pandemic.
Elizabeth also writes a Book Blog with insightful reviews both fiction and non-fiction publications.
She is sophisticated, thoughtful and a class act with a dry sense of humor. I so enjoyed getting to know her better during her photoshoot and show her as strong and confident yet funny and kind too.
