How to Prepare

Business Headshots

A few days before

  • Major changes like hair cuts and color and waxing should be done at least one week out
  • Avoid tanning and sunburns!!
  • Select clothes you will bring and make sure all are clean and ironed if needed.
  • Moisturize and hydrate!

Wardrobe

  • Dress like you're going to an interview
  • Solid color or white shirts work best
  • Avoid stripes and patterns
  • Darker jacket
  • Classic tie
  • Avoid strapless tops and spaghetti straps
  • Avoid baggy clothes- they will make you look bigger
  • Jewelry should compliment and not overwhelm- the focus is YOU after all!
  • If you wear glasses, wear them!

Makeup

  • Should be done slightly heavier than normal but still be natural looking
  • Make sure your foundation matches your skin tone- otherwise the difference  will show between your neck and face
  • Avoid false eyelashes
  • If you do not normally wear make up- consider having your make up done for the shoot! Ask me about options.
  • Hair should be clean and styled as you normally wear it- avoid fancy hairstyles!

  • Coordinate with family members if applicable

Wardrobe:

  • Comfortable- you need to be able to move in your clothes

  • Jewel tones (blue, red, green, purple, pink etc) paired with black, white and denim photograph really well
  • Avoid Neon, graphic tees and big logos
  • Plan the whole outfit- including shoes and accessories!
  • Love how you look in it!
  • Families: Wear coordinating colors but not necessarily matching
